Dal poori:

Ingredients

For poori dough:

  • All pupose flour or maida or atta: 1cup
  • Salt: 1tsp
  • Oil: 2tbsp
  • lukewarm water as needed

For dal stuffing:

  • Mosur or moong dal: 1/2cup
  • Turmeric powder: 1/2tsp
  • Red chili powder: 1tsp
  • Coriander powder: 1tsp
  • Cumin powder: 1/2tsp
  • Chopped onion: 2tbsp
  • Salt as needed

Instructions:

Heat oil in a pan and add onion and fry for 1minute.
Now add mosur dal,all powder masala and salt and fry it for another 1 min.
Add 1cup water into the pan and cook until the dal becomes tender and all water dries up.this mixture should be dry.
Mix flour, salt and Rub the flour with 2 tbsp of oil.
Add water and make a smooth dough .Let this rest for 20 min.
Divide the dough into 8 parts. Make small rutis (keep the center thicker than corners) and add 1tbsp dal stuffing into the middle of the rutis.

Join all the corners and slowly make round balls again.
Now take a ball and spread it slowly by rolling pin or using your hand finger.
Heat oil in a pan and place the poori in the frying pan and press with a skimmer. The poori should puff up. Turn poori over and cook till it becomes brown in color.
serve hot with chutney.
