- Flour: 2cup
- Ghee/Oil: 4tbsp
- Salt: 1/4tsp
- Baking powder: 1/4tsp(optional)
- Water: 1/2cup
- Water: 1cup
- Sugar: 1cup
- Rose water: 1/4tsp
- Melted Ghee/butter: 1/4cup
- Rice flour: 2tbsp
Mix flour, salt, baking powder and oil in a bowl. Rub well with fingers. add water slowly to make a soft dough. cover and let it rest for 20 minutes.
Mix melted ghee and rice flour in a small bowl and set aside.
Divide the dough into 10 portions and shape into balls.
Now take 5 balls and roll out each ball into thin round roti.
Take one roti and Spread some ghee and rice flour mixture on the top of it. Now stack one roti over another. Keep doing the same for all 5.
Roll it all into a cylinders and cut into 1 cm thick slices. (see picture)
Now take each slice and roll once over each slice a bit with help of rolling pin.
Heat 2cup oil in a karahi and fry all khaja slices until golden brown.
Heat water and sugar in bowl and cook it until sugar syrup thick and sticky. add rose water and turn off the heat.
Now Dip them in warm sugar syrup and coat them properly.
