Ladies Delight (Znoud El Sit):
Ingredients:
• 6 slices bread
For cream filling:
• 1 cup milk
• 1/2 cup powder milk
• 1/2 cup cream (optional)
• 1 tablespoons cornstarch
• Chopped nuts: 2tbsp
To seal edges
• 3tbsp flour
• 2tbsp water
For syrup
• 1 cup sugar
• 1/2 cup water
• 1 tsp rose water
Instructions:
Preparing cream filling:
Place the milk, powder milk, cream and cornstarch in a saucepan over medium heat, whisking constantly until the mixture boils and thickens. Mix nuts with the cream.
Set aside to cool down.
Preparing syrup:
Place the sugar and water in a small saucepan and place over medium heat.
Stir until the sugar dissolves completely.
Now you want syrup not caramel, so when a pale yellow is achieved and it is still runny but syrupy, take it offs the stove. Add rose water and remove from heat and transfer to a plate.
Preparing ladies delight:
In a small bowl, put 3 tbsp flour and dissolved in 2 tbsp water (make a paste).
Cut out the sides of the bread and lay them straight on a clean surface and flatten them with a rolling pin. (See picture)
Put 1 tablespoon of cream in one corner of the bread and roll it.
Seal the sides and ends nicely with the flour paste. (See picture)
In a deep frying pan, heat the oil and fry the rolls in batches until they turn golden. Place them on a kitchen absorbent paper.
Immediately pour them for about 1 minute in a bowl containing the cooled sugar syrup.
Now place them on your plate, sprinkle with some more syrup, and garnish with nuts.
Enjoy.
