Chicken bun recipe


Chicken bun recipe:

For dough:

• 3 cups flour
• 1 tsp salt
• 2 tbsp sugar
• 1 tbsp instant yeast
• 1cup warm milk
• 1/4cup Warm water or as needed
• 1 egg and 2 tbsp oil
• 1 extra egg and some sesame seeds

For filling:

• 1 cup chicken (cut into small pieces)
• ½ cup finely chopped onion
• 1 tsp Garam masala powder
• 1 tsp ginger and garlic paste
• 1 tsp black pepper powder
• 1tsp soya sauce
• 1 tbsp tomato sauce
• 1/4cup capsicum (cut into small pieces)
• 2 chopped green chillies
• 1 tbsp butter


Preparing dough:

In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, dry yeast, sugar .then add oil to the mixer. Add an egg and mix it. Then add warm milk and start kneading using your hands .Cover bowl with plastic wrap; let stand in a warm place for 2 hours or until dough has doubled in size.

Preparing filling:

Heat the pan; add butter and ¼ cup onion.fry onion till soft. Then add chicken, salt, ginger and garlic paste, black pepper and garam masala powder. Cook them for 10 minutes on medium heat. Add capsicum, tomato sauce and soya sauce and cook for another 2 min. make sure that the mixture is completely dry. Finally, add green chilies and switch off the heat.

Preparing bun:

Take the dough and divide them into equal pieces and shape the dough pieces into a ball size (12 balls).


Flatten them into small discs and fill them with 2 tbsp of the filling. Re-shape them into a ball.
Place them into greased baking tray .Brush the egg yolk and sprinkle some sesame seeds on top. Let it prove for another 20 min.
Bake them in a pre-heated oven at 190C for 15 min.
