kachki macher kofta(small fish kofta):


For kofta:

1. Kachki Fish : ½ kg
2. Corn flour: 2tbsp
4. Onion paste: 2 tbsp
5. Ginger garlic: paste 1 tsp each
7. Garam masala: 1/2 tsp, powdered
8. Red chilies: 1 tsp, powdered
10. Cumin and coriander seeds: 1 tsp, roasted and powder
13. Egg white: 2
14. Salt to taste
15. Oil for frying

For gravy:

16. Onion paste: ¼ cup
17. Ginger garlic paste: 1 tsp
21. Garam masala: 1 tsp, powdered
22. Red chillies:1 tsp, powdered
23. Turmeric:1 tsp , powdered
24. Fresh coriander: 2tbsp ,finely chopped
25. Green chilies: 3
26. Coconut milk: ½ cup
27. Salt to taste
28. Oil : 1/2 cup
29. fried golden brown onions (beresta): 2 tbsp



Preparing kofta:

Wash the fish properly, and place on a “Sheel Pata”. Grind the fish on the “Sheel Pata” until smooth.
Add all kofta ingredients and mix all ingredients.
Heat 1cup oil in a pan, add all kofta into it, and fries for 5 minutes on medium heat until golden. Take the fish balls out and set aside.

Preparing gravy:

Heat oil in a saucepan, add onion paste, salt, garlic-ginger paste, coriander, cumin, garam masala, turmeric and red chili powders. Stir well. Add some water and cook until oil separates.


Add kofta into the gravy and mix well. Cook for 1 minute. Add coconut milk and ¼ cup water. Stir for a bit. Make sure that the fish balls do not break by stirring rigorously. Cover and Cook for 10 minutes.
Sprinkle with fresh coriander, fried onions and green chilies.
Serve with plain rice.
