Jeera chicken curry


Jeera chicken curry:


  • Chicken: 1kg(cut into medium pieces)
  • Oil: 1/4cup
  • Onions: 1cup(finely chopped)
  • Cumin seeds: 2 table spoons
  • Whole black pepper: 5-8
  • Salt to taste
  • Bay leaves: 2
  • Cardamom: 3(medium)
  • Cinnamon: 2 sticks
  • Clove : 3
  • Yoghurt: 1/2cup
  • Red chili powder: 1 tea spoon
  • Finely chopped garlic: 2 table spoons
  • Finely chopped ginger: 1 table spoon
  • Roasted cumin powder: 1 table spoon
  • Coriander powder: 1 table spoon
  • Garam masala powder: 1tea spoon
  • Green chilies: 4


Heat oil in a frying pan on high flame and add cumin seeds, clove, cardamom, cinnamon, bay leaves and black peppers and let them crackle.
Then add the green chilies and chopped onions.fry them until the onions are caramelized and golden brown.
Add ginger, garlic and chicken pieces and mix well. Add salt and fry till the chicken is golden.
Now add yogurt and all the powder masala and 1/4cup water and stir well. Cover and cook for 15 minutes on low flame.
Sprinkle some cumin powder and turn off the heat.
Serve hot.
