Simple Pound cake


Pound cake


  • (1 + 1/4) cup flour
  • 3/4cup granulated white sugar
  • 1tsp baking powder
  • 1/4tsp salt
  • 2tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 1/2cup butter (room temperature)
  • 1/4 cup milk (room temperature)


Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C). Grease and line one 9-inch pound cake pan and line the bottom of pan with parchment or wax paper.
In a bowl, sift the flour, sugar, salt, baking powder and mix well.
In a clean mixing bowl, add egg and milk and whisk or beat until mix well.
Now mix dry ingredients, butter and half of the egg mixture together and whisk until well combined. now add remaining egg mixture and beat for 2 minutes.
Pour cake batter into your pan, smoothing the top. Bake for about 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Let it cool completely. Serve or can be store in an airtight box.
