Beef masala rezala  :


For beef marinade:

  • Beef: 1kg(cut into medium pieces)
  • Oil: 1/4cup
  • Yogurt: 1/4cup
  • Salt to taste
  • Red chili powder: 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder: 1 tsp
  • Onion paste 1/4cup
  • Ginger paste: 1tbsp
  • garlic paste: 1/2 tbs
  • Coriander powder: 1 tsp
  • (Cardamom: 3(medium), cinnamon: 4, clove: 3, bay leaf: 2 )pieces
  • Cumin powder: 1tsp(roasted)
  • Coriander leaves: 2 tbsp(chopped)
  • Tomato sauce: 1tbsp


  • Fried Onion(beresta): ¼ cup
  • Whole Green chilies: 10
  • Ghee: 2tbsp
  • Garlic: 6 cloves
  • Shahi jeera / whole cumin: 1tsp
  • Kewra water: 1tsp



Cut the beef into medium pieces. Wash them well.
Mix the beef with all the above marinade ingredients and leave for half an hour.
Heat a karahi and add marinated beef pieces with spices and cook on high flame for 5 minutes. Then cover and let cook on low heat until meat is tenderized (around 1 hour). Keep stirring occasionally. Don’t use any water.
Now add fried onion and green chilies and let it cook for 5 mins on low heat.
Heat ghee in another pan; add garlic clove and shahi jeera and fry for just half minutes. Then pour it over the beef and also sprinkle 1tsp kewra water. Cover and simmer for 5 minutes.
Delicious beef masala rezala is ready. Serve hot with plain rice or pulao.
